Throughout my career I have maintained a small private-practice, with activities ranging from pro bono psychotherapy services to students at Northwestern University’s Medical and Law Schools, to forensic and IME services for attorneys and insurance companies. I have deposition and courtroom expert witness experience, and am skilled at assisting attorneys prepare to cross-examine opposing experts.

I have been co-developer of several computerized neuropsychological assessment batteries, and provide interpretation of test results for concussion surveillance programs at the NFL and PAC 10, as well as high school levels.

I have given Grand Rounds and taught workshops at numerous institutions. I also have established and been the director of two major postdoctoral programs in clinical neuropsychology, one at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and the other at the National Rehabilitation Hospital. I have been providing behavioral and neurobehavioral training to medical residents (rehabilitation medicine, neurology, and psychiatry) for over 25 years, which I continue to the present by serving as a research mentor in the rehabilitation medicine residency program at the National Rehabilitation Hospital, and by doing the CVA and TBI lectures for the psychiatry residency program at Georgetown.

I actively review manuscripts for several journals and serve on proposal review panels for numerous agencies including the AIBS TBI and PTSD reviews for DOD and the Department of Veterans Affairs TBI and PTSD consortium reviews. I have served on the above type review panels for federal and private organizations for the past 25 years, and I have been a standing member or chair of several scientific review committees and institutional review boards.
